The Tilton Historical Museum Story
Preliminary research indicates that Tilton Inn building actually incorporates two smaller buildings, both built between 1875
and 1879. In their day, these buildings housed the F.J.Moulton Photography studio, the Batchelder and Couch Meat Company (circa 1860)
and eventually they were joined to become the Tilton Inn. In 2002, Joanna Oliver saved the abandoned building from demolition and completely refurbished
the eleven room Inn and adjoining Alphonso's Restaurant. The location of the F.J.Moulton Photography studio became the new home of the
Tilton Historical Museum, a non-profit historical preservation organization and resource for the entire region.
